Dalton Jansen
Dalton studeerde af aan de Academie voor Theater en Dans in Amsterdam in de richting Urban Contemporary Dance (JMD). Dalton is artistiek directeur van de Company Dalton Jansen, een jonge, vernieuwende en multidisciplinaire Urban Contemporary Dance Company in Rotterdam. Dalton geeft les op verschillende dansscholen, waar hij workshops geeft in de Urban Contemporary stijl.
Met zijn choreografieën heeft Dalton de afgelopen jaren diverse prijzen gewonnen. In 2017 won hij The Double Collective Hip Hog Games: een grote internationale competitie in Frankrijk. In 2014 won hij de publieksprijs bij het Rotterdams Open Podium. In 2015 won hij de publieks- en juryprijs bij de Rotterdam Fanatics competition voor ‘The Double’ (in samenwerking met Gihan Koster en Terencio Douw). Recentelijk ontving Dalton de nieuwe makerssubsidie van het Fonds Podiumkunsten, waarmee hij zijn werk de komende 2 jaar verder kan ontwikkelen.
Dalton Jansen
Dalton graduated from the Urban Contemporary (JMD) course at the Academy for Theatre and Dance in Amsterdam. Dalton is artistic director of Company Dalton Jansen, which is a young, innovative and multidisciplinary Urban Contemporary dance company based in Rotterdam. Dalton teaches at various dance schools where he gives workshops and in the urban contemporary style.
With his choreographies Dalton has won several awards in recent years. In 2017 he won The Double Collective Hip Hop Games: a major international competition in France, the Audience Award in 2014 during the talent show ‘Het Rotterdams Open Podium’. In 2015 he won the Audience Award and jury prize at the Rotterdam Fanatics competition for the piece ‘The Double’ (in collaboration with Gihan Koster and Terencio Douw). And he has also won the 1st prize three times in a row at the Amsterdans Choreography Competition. Dalton has recently received the ‘New Makers’subsidy so he can further develop his work over the next 2 years.
